Let’s start this off with some truth: it took us a long time to figure out which UI would work for financials.
We knew we didn’t want to use a traditional table as simple gets complicated very quickly with tables.
We know we didn’t want to get complicated with charts and graphs because complicated means time consuming.
When we landed on our block format we were attempting to solve for several financials issues:

Colour coded, expandable, blocked, and mathematically easy to follow; our financials allow any event planner to view their financials quickly and form decisions around the numbers just as fast!
In the future we’ll offer a P&L view as well as exportable CSVs for Quickbooks, Wave, and other bookkeeping solutions.
